Supporting children's development and emotions: training with an expert from Centrum Fiklon

As part of the continuous development of our teaching staff, we organized a training course at the beginning of December led by child psychologist Joanna Dulak from Fiklon.

Joanna has spent many years combining the work of a psychologist and a preschool teacher, gaining experience in supporting the development of neurotypical children as well as children on the autism spectrum and with other developmental disorders. During the training, the team had the opportunity to learn methods for supporting children in difficult situations, responding to emotions that arise during their stay in the nursery, and reading the signals related to the needs of the youngest children. During the meeting, the trainer also introduced ideas for psychoeducational work that help teachers support children in regulating their emotions. Thanks to such meetings, our teachers have the chance to look at their work and the methods they use through the eyes of an external, professional observer, allowing them to approach educational situations more consciously.

Fiklon is a center for diagnosis and therapy for young children (from birth to the first years of primary school). The Fiklon team includes developmental specialists (psychologist, educator, speech therapist), physiotherapists, a pediatric dietitian, and doctors (a child psychiatrist and child neurologist), which provides a broad perspective on child development and the difficulties that may arise in early childhood. Fiklon specializes primarily in the diagnosis of ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, and sensory integration. It also conducts intelligence and school readiness assessments, as well as regular multidisciplinary developmental reviews. The center is located at Wielicka 20 in Kraków.
