At Bamboo Montessori, we embarked on an exciting journey of transforming our nursery at the turn of July and August to create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children. The renovation is just the first step in creating the ideal Montessori environment. Our next goal is to fully implement the Montessori approach, which is crucial for children’s holistic development.

For parents looking for a nursery that emphasizes the Montessori approach, it is important to understand the environments we offer for children under the age of 3. We offer two distinct spaces: the Nido classroom and the Children’s classroom. The Nido classroom is designed for infants who are not yet walking or are just beginning to walk, while the Children’s classroom is designed for children who are already confidently walking.

Key elements of our Montessori environment:

  • Colors: We chose a single, calming background color to create a peaceful atmosphere. The shelves are either wooden or white, and all the educational materials are beautifully displayed. The colors, shapes, and materials of each item are carefully chosen to attract children and encourage them to engage in meaningful activities. This environment helps children feel calm and focused.
  • Freedom: In our classrooms, the environment belongs to the children. They have the freedom to choose activities that interest them, and all materials are readily available. We understand that every child is different and encourage them to work at their own pace. There is no pressure to finish tasks quickly; instead, children have the time they need to explore and learn.
  • Adults: The role of adults in our Montessori environment is crucial. Our educators possess a deep understanding of early childhood development and are committed to respecting the unique nature of each child. They gently guide children to the right activities at the right times, fostering their independence and self-confidence.

As we continue to develop and refine the Montessori environment at Bamboo, we are committed to creating a space where children feel loved, respected, and free to explore their world.
