Say goodbye to diapers with the Montessori method

Are you tired of seeing children in diapers at age 2? My son was out of them at 14 months thanks to the Montessori method, and your child can be too!
Our approach focuses on two key steps:
- Cloth diapers: Introducing cloth diapers sets the stage for toilet independence. Children learn to recognize the feeling of needing to use the toilet and the sensation of wetness. This helps them better understand their bodily functions and gradually develop bladder control. We encourage immediate changing of wet cloth diapers and verbal confirmation to strengthen the connection between wetness and the need to use the toilet. Patience is key, as every child develops at their own pace.
- A child-friendly toileting environment: Transitioning from diapers to pants involves creating a welcoming bathroom space for your child. This includes a potty, a container with a small amount of water and a lid, a basket with clean panties, and a low stool. Encourage your child to use the potty regularly, encouraging them to empty wet diapers into the bucket and put on their panties from the basket themselves. This process fosters responsibility and autonomy in toileting habits.
Once the Bamboo Montessori classrooms are fully adapted, we will implement this method in our facility to help children transition out of diapers, usually between 12 and 18 months of age.
